The Story
This shaggy, rare breed sheepskin rug is predominantly dark brown in colour, almost black in certain lighting, featuring subtle grey and lighter brown highlights.
The colouring of 'all-brown' rugs like this can be quite deceptive when viewed in photos rather than in person, particularly in outdoor natural lighting where the fleece is highlighted making it look much lighter in places and a very varied colour. Under indoor artificial lighting this rug looks a fairly constant very dark brown colour all over, with some very subtle highlights on the tips of of the fleece.
The fleece is long haired, and soft to touch, with a slightly coarser feel in places. There are particularly soft patches in the corners of the rug, and along each edge.
This stunning rug has a 6cm diameter bald spot on one edge - see photos - that we didn't spot until after we'd photographed it. It's not visible when the fleece lays over it, but it may become more prominent over time. Hence the reduced price.
Like all our rugs, it has been tanned in the UK and hand finished in our Yorkshire Dales warehouse.
